No till Drill Rental
The
Pine Country RC&D Council continues to promote conservation tillage
by offering no-till grain drills for rent through out the area.
No-till planting saves soil, fuel, and money. No-till drills plant
seeds through the existing ground cover, eliminating the need for
harrowing or plowing before planting. This type of planting helps to
keep the soil in place, thus protecting water supplies for
additional non-point source pollution. Conservation tillage
equipment can reduce soil erosion up to 95% compared with
conventional plowing, disking and harrowing for seedbed preparation.
Many farmers have achieved higher yields using conservation tillage.

To schedule use of equipment, please contact the custodian nearest
you.
